Synergy Group is proud to announce the launch of our first Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). Organisations like ours play a critical in advancing reconciliation. As of 2 June 2023, Synergy Group officially joined a network of more than 2,200 corporate, government, and not-for-profit organisations throughout Australia that have made a formal commitment to reconciliation through the RAP program.
As our collective voice has grown and continues to expand across Australia, we acknowledge the importance of our role in reconciliation. Our RAP is our commitment to drive positive change, support the aspirations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and turn good intentions into measurable and meaningful actions.
Our reconciliation journey is not a singular initiative. We know that this is a continuous learning journey. A journey built on respect, recognition and forming meaningful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities and businesses.
As such, our first step is one of curiosity. Free of all assumptions, we seek to listen and deeply understand, honour knowledge and experience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait
Islander peoples, and collaborate towards taking real, deliberate action towards real impact.
We are committed to ensuring a culturally safe workplace and understand the importance of having the right foundations in place to engage and support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to thrive when working at, and with, Synergy.
To guide the development of our RAP we had the privilege to work closely with Kurawali and Mbarbaram man, Benny Eggmolesse from AAK-ITHER Group and local Canberra Ngunnawall singer/song writer Alinta Barlow. benny and Alinta provided unique insights and guidance that would otherwise be untouchable for us - something we are deeply grateful for.
There is so much more we can and will do through Synergy’s first RAP. We are committed to do so to advance reconciliation within our Canberra (Ngunnawal) community and beyond.
